Today I was scrolling through Netflix and came across a movie I have always wanted to watch.....today I did and I was not disappointed. In my younger years and even today I have always been so impressed at what some people can do on a skate boards. Even though this is a movie the main writer Stacey Peralta one of original Z-Boys says even though this movie is a work of fiction it is so close to what really happened that it is scary. Over the years I have read about skate history but it is always nice to see a movie accurately depict history.
This movie had a rock solid cast, great cameos, and killer tunes...you really can't ask for much more in a film. This movie is funny, sad, and just cool to watch.....sunny Venice Beach, California a group of lower class surfers (Heath Ledger) put together a skate group for his surf/skate shop Zeypher.....This team included Tony Alva, Stacey Peralta, and Jay Adams. As time passes soon these three re-create what skateboarding is...bringing surfer flow to a at the time stiff sport. With their rise is popularity they soon out grow a small surf shop skate team and as we all know begin to move on to fame and fortune....but not with out plenty of drama and obstacles along the way.
So if you are browsing through Netflix and you are having trouble finding something to watch you should defiantly check this movie out! There is tons of skating, drama, and laughs and who doesn't like all of those things? I give this movie a solid 8 out of 10....so turn on the TV and get ready to watch some killer skating and enjoy a killer movie all at the same time!
Also as always follow me on twitter @ericsilasking and on pinertrest ericking13 and let me know what you think of the movie... I always enjoy a good movie conversation!

Fargo
Today I finally got around to watching Fargo.....I had been putting it off for sometime now because I thought it was going to be a super boring and dry movie. The more and more I kept hearing and reading about this movie the more I wanted to watch it....so this morning I logged into Netflix and started it up. I had originally thought this movie was a newer movie and is partly the reason I didn't want to watch it (not that I don't like new movies I'm just always weary haha). With it having a 1996 release date it had a pretty good cast....William H. Macy, Steve Buscemi, and Frances McDormand are three of the main characters and each deliver an awesome performance. Another thing I loved about this movie is it actually happened and all of the cast have mid-western accents for that real life feel.
Another reason I did not want to watch this film is because my impression of the summary is that it was going to be super heavy.....five murdered in a small town in Minnesota seems pretty depressing and I didn't want to be bummed out all day...but this movie had several light and semi-funny parts. Just the way the sheriff carries herself is calming...Frances McDormand really pulls off the kind mid-western personality she is so kind throughout the whole movie and it made me laugh at certain points. Overall I think the Coen brothers killed it with this movie (as always) and if you are looking for something to watch on Netflix this should definantly be a top choice...especially if you have never seen it.
As usual I'm going to beg and plead for feed back I would like to know how to improve....So #dontbeadick and help a dude out.....Follow me on here or on twitter @ericsilasking and on Pinterest ericking13....thanks in advance!

Marco Polo
About a week or so ago I seen a Facebook post about the new Netflix show Marco Polo. According to the post on Facebook it was "Not to be missed!"....so naturally I was intrigued but I was busy with another show so I put it on the back burner until today. Now I'm not going to lie for the first 30 minuets I thought I wasn't going to make it through...I was wondering why anyone would watch this show....It was boring and couldn't keep my attention...I was wondering off into the land of Facebook and contemplating turning this show off but when I focused my attention to the screen some shit was going down! Martial Arts, and nudity is enough to gain a second chance at approval in my book...So I put my phone down and started watching what was left of this first episode and I wasn't disappointing.
The show starts with a group of Italian merchants who are delivering priest to Kublia Khan...It was flat out boring until they reach Kublia Khan and Marco Polo's father trades him to Kublia Khan for a trade route....Marco Polo is thrown in a dungeon and again more boring and confusing scenes. They finally let Marco Polo out of the dungeon because Kublia Khan likes the way he delivers a story and he is granted his freedom as long as he would go different places in the land and report back and describe it to him.....But first he must be trained in the ways of Martial Arts, riding horses, and whore houses......So now that the show is getting interesting I suppose I'll watch it and hopefully it keeps getting better.
Total side note but Netflix is killing it with their original shows...

Gotham 11/17/14
This show just keeps getting better... In Mondays episode we get to meet Harvey Dent and I think in going to like him...A clean cut young district attorney with an angry side that we get to see in this episode... After seeing this snap of anger makes me ecstatic for when he becomes two face... I'm also excited to see how they are going to show him become two face... Hopefully it doesn't happen for a while... I want to see Edward Nigma become the Riddler first.
Even though Fish Mooney and the Peunguin wasn't in the show as much as usual they both still style the show...Robin Lord Taylor was the perfect choice for this role... He is the perfect amounts of creepy and funny... The chemistry between him and Jada Pinkett Smith lights the screen up everything they are in a scene together... But everyone's chemistry is on point in this show... Bruce, Alfred, and Selina Kyle's story I think is going to be something great...I hope that she stays at Wayne manor so we can see the relationship between Bruce and Selina blossom.
So check out this weeks episode and let me know what you think.

Peaky Blinders
After watching the first episode and I'm hooked.... I love mobster type dramas.... However I was skeptical about this one for some reason but I am so glad I started watching it.....I had no idea that Sam Neil from Jurassic Park was in it... He plays the head police officer and he is our for blood... This is a side of him that I have ever seen of him before and it is great.
Cillian Murphy is also in it and I love his style of acting.... And he is violent in this show and it's awesome... It's the perfect amount of violent all the way around.....
I'm am so impressed by the writing and directing of this show... Some of the shots are just so beautiful.... And Tom Hardy shows up at some point ....more of a reason to watch it.
So if you need something to watch check out this Netflix original for sure.

Mike Birbiglia: My Girlfriends Boyfriend
I'm on my third stand up and this time I watched Mike Birbiglia: My Girlfriends Boyfriend..... It was great.... Watching this guy I seen myself in 15 years and some of the stories he told I have experienced similar situations with girls, friends, and family.... So it made me ready to tackle this day with a great attitude.
This guy was such a smart ass and so funny and somehow his stories and jokes just made me feel great..... I think that's what any good stand up, movie, or TV show should do.... Again the more stand up I watch like this the more I want to do a stand up... There were all kinds of hidden morals to his stories... Watching someone laugh at their misfortunes makes it easier to laugh at your own misfortunes and then they don't seem as bad.
So if you are looking for something hilarious and a feel good stand up check this guy out.... He was great.
