Lords of Dogtown

Today I was scrolling through Netflix and came across a movie I have always wanted to watch.....today I did and I was not disappointed.  In my younger years and even today I have always been so impressed at what some people can do on a skate boards.  Even though this is a movie the main writer Stacey Peralta one of original Z-Boys says even though this movie is a work of fiction it is so close to what really happened that it is scary. Over the years I have read about skate history but it is always nice to see a movie accurately depict history.
This movie had a rock solid cast, great cameos, and killer tunes...you really can't ask for much more in a film.  This movie is funny, sad, and just cool to watch.....sunny Venice Beach, California a group of lower class surfers (Heath Ledger) put together a skate group for his surf/skate shop Zeypher.....This team included Tony Alva, Stacey Peralta, and Jay Adams.  As time passes soon these three re-create what skateboarding is...bringing surfer flow to a at the time stiff sport.  With their rise is popularity they soon out grow a small surf shop skate team and as we all know begin to move on to fame and fortune....but not with out plenty of drama and obstacles along the way.
So if you are browsing through Netflix and you are having trouble finding something to watch you should defiantly check this movie out!  There is tons of skating, drama, and laughs and who doesn't like all of those things?  I give this movie a solid 8 out of 10....so turn on the TV and get ready to watch some killer skating and enjoy a killer movie all at the same time!

Fargo

Today I finally got around to watching Fargo.....I had been putting it off for sometime now because I thought it was going to be a super boring and dry movie.  The more and more I kept hearing and reading about this movie the more I wanted to watch it....so this morning I logged into Netflix and started it up.  I had originally thought this movie was a newer movie and is partly the reason I didn't want to watch it (not that I don't like new movies I'm just always weary haha).  With it having a 1996 release date it had a pretty good cast....William H. Macy, Steve Buscemi, and Frances McDormand are three of the main characters and each deliver an awesome performance.  Another thing I loved about this movie is it actually happened and all of the cast have mid-western accents for that real life feel.
Another reason I did not want to watch this film is because my impression of the summary is that it was going to be super heavy.....five murdered in a small town in Minnesota seems pretty depressing and I didn't want to be bummed out all day...but this movie had several light and semi-funny parts.  Just the way the sheriff carries herself is calming...Frances McDormand really pulls off the kind mid-western personality she is so kind throughout the whole movie and it made me laugh at certain points.  Overall I think the Coen brothers killed it with this movie (as always) and if you are looking for something to watch on Netflix this should definantly be a top choice...especially if you have never seen it.
As usual I'm going to beg and plead for feed back I would like to know how to improve....So #dontbeadick and help a dude out.....Follow me on here or on twitter @ericsilasking and on Pinterest ericking13....thanks in advance!
